Honors and Diplomas

Diplomas

You will be notified by email when your diploma has been ordered. Diplomas are mailed directly to your home address approximately 3-5 weeks after ordering. A courtesy copy of the Kean University transcript indicating the degree conferred will be mailed to your home address ahead of your diploma. Please note that if you have an active Kean University restriction, diplomas will not be automatically mailed. Upon resolving your restriction, you may contact the Office of Graduate Student Services to have your diploma mailed or held for pickup at:

Certification

If you are a graduate-degree candidate who has also applied for New Jersey state certification, you will receive your certificate via mail from the Department of Education, Office of Licensing and Credentials.

Graduation Honors Designations

Kean University proudly recognizes its students who have consistently demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. The Nathan Weiss Graduate College designates honors as follows:

  • Those students who have maintained a 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) in their program and received a commendation on their Comprehensive Examination (if required) will graduate "With Distinction," which will be noted on the diploma and transcript.
  • All students graduating with a GPA of 3.9 to 4.0 will receive a letter from the Graduate College dean in recognition of their academic excellence.
