Guest Seating

The NJPAC lobby will be open for guests at 5:30 p.m., with seating to begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. Guests should be in their seats before the procession begins. Those arriving late will be seated following opening remarks. We will not interrupt the procession. Please inform family and friends in advance where to meet you after the main ceremony.

Directions

NJPAC is conveniently located on the Newark riverfront between Military Park and McCarter Highway, near Gateway Center, Newark Penn Station and the Ironbound District. It is easily accessed by car from routes I-280, I-78, the New Jersey
Turnpike or the Garden State Parkway.

Traffic

Traffic will be extremely heavy near NJPAC. Please allow extra travel time.

Public Transportation

You may also reach NJPAC using public transportation. Trains leave from all New Jersey destinations and from New York Penn Station at 34th St. to nearby Newark Penn Station, just five blocks from NJPAC. From there, you can get to NJPAC by hiring a cab or riding the LOOP shuttle system. Look for the purple LOOP signs if you wish to use the shuttle. The Newark Light Rail also provides service from NJPAC to Newark Penn Station and Broad Street Station after evening performances.

Parking

If you are traveling to NJPAC by car, there is ample, secure underground and surface parking, with 1,300 spaces in four convenient areas adjacent to and across from the theatre. All lots contain designated parking spots for people with disabilities. Prices for parking are: Military Park: $15 / Lot A: $16 / Lot B: $15 / Lot C: $15
NJPAC offers convenient parking for people with disabilities adjacent to the theatre, but only licenses and permits issued by
the Motor Vehicles Commission will be honored for accessible parking spaces.

Security

As security procedures have been enhanced at many public venues, all bags will be subject to inspection. We therefore ask that students and guests minimize the items they bring into Prudential Hall.

Students and Guests with Disabilities

Kean University is dedicated to making sure that Commencement 2013 is an enjoyable and memorable occasion for students, family and friends alike. Accordingly, every effort has been made to accommodate our students and guests with physical disabilities.

Seating

Students or guests requiring accessible seating should notify the Wilkins Theatre Box Office when they pick up their tickets. They will then be given the appropriate tickets for the designated accessible seating, which is located on every tier in Prudential Hall, easily accessed by elevators throughout the building.

Restrooms

Restrooms equipped for those with physical disabilities are conveniently situated throughout NJPAC.

Food Concessions

Food is not allowed in NJPAC's Prudential Hall during the Commencement exercises.

First Aid

All supervisory staff members at NJPAC are trained in first aid and CPR. Students and guests can notify ushers or security guards, who will quickly summon help if there is an emergency. NJPAC also has an agreement with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for prompt ambulance service if needed.

Courtesy

Please be courteous throughout the ceremony. Turn off all electronic devices. Also, please do not leave the theatre until the ceremony is over. We anticipate that commencement will conclude sometime around 9:30 p.m.
