Commuter Support

Welcome! The mission of Kean University Commuter Support Office is to serve as a communication link and resource to Kean University commuter students. The Commuter Support Office is staffed by the Coordinator for Commuter Support and Information Services, who is a member of the University Center Administration Staff under the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs. The purpose of the Office is to work in conjunction with other departments to assist commuter students by identify available resources and to provide services and activities which will cultivate successful college experiences for Kean University commuter students. Through education and creative opportunities, we enhance students’ experiences and success. We value commuter students and their contributions to the University. Our Goals are to:

  • Create a Commuter Council which will consist of students, faculty, and staff that will address commuter concerns as well as create activities that will enhance their experiences at Kean University
  • Work in conjunction with other University departments to programs and services that directly address the needs of commuter students and inform students of campus events, policies and procedures
  • Serve an advocate for commuter student concerns
  • Encourage involvement in campus life beyond  the classroom
  • Encourage commuter students’ identification with the campus community; and
  • Increase commuter student access to campus resources by increasing awareness of resources available.
