Welcome to the Kean Counseling Center (KCC)

Congratulations on choosing Kean University for your college experience. College can be a wonderful, exciting, and rewarding time in your life. However, with new experiences can come increased stress and anxiety. The Kean Counseling Center is a potential resource for managing such anxiety. We offer individual and group counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, education and psychiatric consultation.

You do not need to be in crisis or dealing with a serious problem to seek counseling. Students come to the counseling center with a variety of concerns. Some of these include the following:

  • Roommate and friendship conflicts
  • Homesickness
  • Academic difficulties
  • Depression
  • Self esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Family problems
  • Drug and alcohol concerns
  • Eating Disorder concerns
  • Sexual assault or date rape
  • Identity concerns

We encourage you to stop by the Kean Counseling Center with any concerns you may have. We are located in Downs Hall room 127. Our telephone number is 908-737-4850. The Counseling Center is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the summer. Appointments can be made by telephone or in person. In the event of emergencies after business hours, please contact the Kean Police at 911.
