Employee Assistance Program
Kean University cares about the health and well-being of its employees and recognizes that a variety of personal issues can disrupt their personal and work lives. Personal challenges, such as family and parenting issues, emotional concerns such as anxiety, anger, grief or depression, and legal and financial difficulties, can affect employee health, well-being and job performance.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers screening, information, counseling, referral and support services for full-time Kean University employees. It is designed to help employees manage work and life to further their physical and emotional well-being.
Consultations between an employee and the EAP advisor are strictly confidential. No charge is involved for visits by the employee to the Employee Assistance Program. Visits to the EAP advisor are limited to four (4) sessions. If further counseling or health services are necessary, the EAP advisor will attempt to assist the employee in transitioning to another health care provider that participates in his or her current medical plan.
Appointments with the EAP advisor may be scheduled at a confidential location on campus or off campus. To schedule an appointment with an EAP advisor, employees may contact the EAP appointment coordinator, Estela Rato, in the Office of Human Resources at email@example.com, or . We will ask you your preference of appointment dates and times, but we will not inquire about the reason for the appointment. We will schedule your first appointment only. You will schedule any subsequent appointments directly with the EAP advisor.
