Flex and Meal Plans
Flex plans are available to students, faculty and staff. This easy and convenient system allows you to deposit dollar amounts onto your Cougar ID card. The minimum purchase amount is $50.00. Flex dollars may be added at any time at the Student Accounting Office. Flex dollars can also be purchased to supplement the mandatory meal plans required for all students living on campus. The flex dollars can be spent at any food services location, the convenience store, and the campus bookstore. Applications received by 3pm will be processed the same day and your flex dollars will be ready for use on the next business day. For your convenience Flex dollars are rolled over from semester to semester until a cancellation request is made by you at The Office of Student Accounting. Upon your request, unused Flex dollars will be credited back to your student account and all credit balances will be refunded.
Please note flex plans can only be used if you are a currently enrolled student and/or a current Kean University employee. Refunds are only processed upon request.
The meal plan week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. Remember, unused meals do not carry over from week to week or semester to semester. Be sure to eat all your meals before the weekends or, if you have the block plan, make sure to eat your maximum number of meals before the end of the semester. No credits or refunds will be provided for unused meals. While unused Cougar Dollars from the fall semester are carried over into the spring semester, keep in mind that all remaining Cougar Dollars at the end of the spring semester will be forfeited and no credits or refunds will be provided.
