Health Services - What is a Program Assistant?
Health Services’ Program Assistant oversees the Insurance and Immunization Programs. He implements the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services’ regulations and the University’s policies and procedures regarding the submission of state and university-required documents. There are three current immunization programs: MMR, Meningitis, Hepatitis B, as well as the Insurance Program.
The Program Assistant prepares all correspondence regarding the immunization and insurance programs. He notifies all students of the Immunization and Insurance requirements through mailings from Health Services, as well as in conjunction with distributing information through other University departments, including Transfer, Undergraduate, and Graduate Admissions offices. He keeps records of all correspondence mailed to students, and also attends new-student registrations, orientations, and open houses.
The Program Assistant reviews the compliance of all immunization record submissions, processes the records, and notifies any noncompliant students. He oversees and maintains the organization of the immunization files as per state guidelines.
If students have any questions, they are welcome and encouraged to ask the Program Assistant.
