New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics
In 2004, Kean University established the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology, and Mathematics to meet the State's need for qualified science and mathematics teachers, physicians, and scientific researchers. The Center’s academic programs are designed to: produce exceptional educators; develop well-trained research professionals, support and advance scientific and technological innovation, and train scientist-physicians to practice medicine in New Jersey.
The New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics is New Jersey’s premiere academic center for science, mathematics and biomedicine. High school seniors apply for consideration to be admitted directly into this program as entering college freshmen. The Center offers a five year, combined Bachelors/Masters degree program for motivated students ready to embark on a rigorous course of scientific and mathematical study. The Center has a partnership with Drexel University College of Medicine and St. Peter's University Hospital to offer a four-plus-four Bachelor of Science / Medical Degree (4+4 B.S./M.D.) Linkage Program for highly qualified undergraduate students who are admitted as incoming freshmen to the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology & Mathematics academic major. The Center also has a matriculation agreement with Raritan Valley Community College whereby candidates for an Associate’s degree in biotechnology can apply to transition with junior status into the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology & Mathematics five-year Bachelors/Masters degree research track. In addition there is a master of science in biotechnology program for students already holding a Bachelor's degree.
Exciting program offerings, a culture that fosters scholarship and leadership, NJCSTM is a unique and innovative academic program. We hope you will consider the New Jersey Center for Science, Mathematics and Technology the place to pursue your education in the sciences.
