      • Maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 3.45 or higher.
      • Complete a minimum of 45 semester hours at Kean (excluding
credits earned on a pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis)
by the end of the fall semester of senior year.

Honors are divided into three categories according to grade-point average:

  Summa Cum Laude
Magna Cum Laude
Cum Laude
3.85 to 4.00
3.65 to 3.84
3.45 to 3.64

Those designated by the Office of the Registrar as eligible to participate in Commencement with honors may pick up their gold tassels during cap and gown distribution at the Game Room in the University Center.

Note: The posting of honors designations on diplomas, transcripts, and other student records is based on the FINAL cumulative GPA which includes the fall semester for January candidates, spring semester for May candidates, and Summer Sessions I and II for August candidates.
