Introduction
Kean University remains one of the most affordable universities in the nation.
We recognize that financial aid is an integral part of the financial planning process for our students and their families. The University is committed to assisting students with financial aid programs and services to supplement the resources of the family. Our goal is to keep the University affordable for all students, regardless of financial need, by offering a wide variety of grant,
loan, scholarship, work, alternative loans and installment payment programs.

The financial resource information contained on this Web site is designed to assist new and continuing undergraduate students who will attend the
University during the 2006-2007 academic year.

Regardless of family income, there are financial resources to assist every student with meeting the cost of attending the University. Last year, approximately 60 percent of our students received nearly $48 million through grant, loan, scholarship and part-time employment programs.

Kean University is an affirmative action/equal opportunity institution and does not discriminate in admission or access to its programs and activities on the basis of race/color, national origin, religion/creed, disability, age, marital
status, sex, sexual orientation or veteran's status.

The Cost of Attending the University
The primary responsibility for financing the cost of attending the University belongs to the student and his or her family. The purpose of financial aid is to supplement the efforts of the student and their family. The expenses listed
below are averages experienced by most students and are used in determining eligibility for need-based financial aid.
