Summer 2009 Financial Aid Information
General Information
The Office of Financial Aid provides a variety of grant, loan, and work-study opportunities to assist you with financing the cost of attending summer classes. Available sources of financial aid include:
- Federal Work Study
- Federal Direct Student Loans
- Federal Perkins Loans (on availability basis)
- Federal Graduate PLUS Loans (Graduate students only)
- Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students
- NJ Educational Opportunity Fund (EEO students only)
(*funding may be limited, students affiliated with EEO, should contact that office for funding information) - Private Alternative Loans
(*students must complete the summer aid application as well as the alternative loan application)
Students are advised that availability of Federal Direct Student Loans for the summer period may be limited if a student has used loan funds during the Fall 2008 and/or Spring 2009 terms. For example, if a dependent student used their maximum eligibility of $6500 between Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford loans as a sophomore during the 2008-2009 academic year, the student may not have remaining eligibility during the 2009 summer sessions. This is because the summer is treated as part of the 2008-2009 academic year for purposes of a student loan.
