How to Apply

Applications for Cohort IV will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all five candidates are selected.

To apply for the Garden State Partnership Urban Teacher Residency please send the following documents to
Dr. Gail Hilliard-Nelson:

• Candidate Application
• Cover letter (250-500 words) outlining reasons for applying, Master's degree program interest  and personal philosophy of education
• Resume
• Official transcripts for all higher education institutions attended (in sealed/signed envelopes)
• Two signed letters of reference (at least one academic reference)
• Passing Praxis II scores (all tests required for certification area) OR Proof of registration for a July
  Praxis II date
• GRE or MAT scores
• 24 Hour Pre-Service Program Certificate of Completion OR Proof of registration for a Summer workshop
• For Candidates Interested in ESL M.A. Program Only: Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) test scores (both tests must be taken in English - 2 total)
• For Candidates Interested in Bilingual M.A. Program Only: Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) test scores (both tests must be taken in English and a Second Language - 4 total)
