Before I begin… |
- What are KEANGoogle and GoogleApps at Kean?
GoogleApps and KEANGoogle are implementation of Gmail and Google applications for education and non-profit organizations at Kean University. KEANGoogle is the central point of GoogleApps, bringing your official Kean emails to you through the robust Gmail interface. GoogleApps also includes online calendar, word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, chat, personal and collaborative sites. All these applications are sharable with other KEANGoogle users. With email box size over 6 Gigabyte, your emails and important documents are now always available - wherever, whenever.
- I already have a personal Gmail account. Do I still have to activate this one?
Yes! You may have a personal Gmail account, but this one is your official university email account. Your email address will be in the following format: yourname@kean.edu, other than the generic yourname@gmail.com email address. Moreover, this is a separate account, and will not affect any other personal emails that you may have with Google. All Kean correspondence is done through the yourname@kean.edu addresses and will continue do so.
- Why do I have to activate and use the KEANGoogle provided by Kean? Why can’t I use my personal one?
You need to activate your account before you start using it. This activation is a one-time procedure. All internal communications are done using your Kean email address, blast notices and announcements are sent to your Kean email address. Not using your KEANGoogle email address for Kean business could lead to many potential troubles.
