Trumpeter Charles Bumcrot performs regularly on Broadway and can be heard with the American Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Luke's, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Westchester Philharmonic, Mostly Mozart Festival, Orchestra New England and many others. Recordings with Orchestra New England include the CBS release of Villa Lobos' Magdalena, Cole Porter's Fifty Million Frenchmen and the Grammy nominated The Orchestral Works of Charles Ives. Bumcrot has been a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony and has performed with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. He has collaborated with such distinguished artists as Kurt Masur, Kent Nagano, James Levine, Elmar Oliveira, Jesse Norman, Robert Shaw, Midori, Plácido Domingo, Kathleen Battle and many others. Bumcrot did graduate study at the Manhattan School of Music, and holds a BM degree in Music Education and Performance from San Francisco State University. He has given Master classes at Yale University, Tokyo University, Montclair State University, MENC conferences and various summer festivals. He was appointed to the Concert Artist faculty in 2001.
