The Premiere Artists master class series brings world class artists to the Kean University campus. Artists encourage students in intensive, carefully crafted master classes and participate in interactive question and answer sessions with the campus community.

Premiere Artists events have featured a wide array of leading artists, including:


A question and answer session and private reception with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage.


Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis coaching student actors on scenes by Anton Chekhov, followed by a question and answer session with the campus community.


Tony Award-winning designer John Lee Beatty conducting a scenic designer seminar, followed by a question and answer session with the campus community.


A musical theatre workshop with the Broadway cast of Rent, followed by a question and answer session with the campus community.


Emmy Award-winning actress Kim Zimmer conducting an acting for the camera seminar in the Kean Television Studio.


Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang providing feedback to Kean student playwrights and leading a discussion about their presented scenes.


Tony Award-winning composer William Finn coaching students on musical selections, followed by a question and answer session with the campus community.


Broadway fight choreographer Rick Sordelet conducting a fight direction workshop.


A question and answer session with Pulitzer Prize nominee Lee Blessing.


A Producers Symposium with three of New York's leading commercial theatre producers: Pat Addiss, Larry Hirshorn and Carol Ostrow.


A clown workshop with artists from the renowned movement troupe, 500 Clown.


A Sound Design Symposium with leading professionals in the field of sound design, including veteran Broadway designer, Tom Clark.


A directing symposium and critique of student monologues by acclaimed director
Woodie King.
