Premiere Stages is dedicated to supporting the work of regional and emerging playwrights.
The primary way we meet new writers is through our annual
Play Festival Competition for unproduced plays by writers with ties to the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Submissions are accepted from mid-October to mid-January
of each year. Full guidelines with submission details will be posted at that time. For further details on Play Festival, click here.
Premiere Stages also produces an annual Collaborative Premiere of a play new to New Jersey. The Collaborative Premiere specifically targets plays that explore topical and
social themes and challenge our audiences to re-examine their place in the world. Premiere Stages does not currently accept unsolicited submissions for the Collaborative
Premiere, but does often request scripts from previous Play Festival finalists and semi-finalists that fit the Collaborative Premiere goals.
For any questions regarding submissions, please email us at email@example.com.
