Kean University now offers a master of science program in biotechnology. The 40-credit interdisciplinary curriculum provides a variety of technique-based evening and weekend courses. Students may enroll on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on their schedule and availability. The master of science program in biotechnology has two concentrations: genetic engineering and structure-based interaction. Both options require the completion of a full-time internship in the students final semester. Admission requirements include a minimum grade-point average of 3.0, successful completion of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and two letters of recommendation. Additionally, applicants must have completed prerequisite courses in biochemistry, calculus, cell biology, organic chemistry and introductory statistics. The application deadline for the fall 2001 semester is June 1.
