Kean University Offers Workshop on How to Buy a Business or Franchise
UNION, N.J. The Small Business Development Center of Kean University
will present a free workshop titled How to Buy a Business or Franchise,
on Thursday, January 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school’s East
Campus, Room 158 A, 215 North Avenue in Hillside, N.J.
This seminar, conducted by Jack Armstrong, president of Franchise Network
of New Jersey, Linden and Lawrenceville, N.J., will focus on how to get
into business by starting from scratch, or buying an existing business
or franchise. It will help prospective business owners determine which
is the better choice for their needs; how to select a business that will
provide them with income; how to conduct research on companies before
putting any money down; and the key issues in negotiations, dealing with
landlords, banks, vendors and employees. It will also cover investment
ranges, sources of financing for your investment and the tools to use
in finding what business or franchises are for sale.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the Kean University Division of Continuing
and Professional Education. Special arrangements for people with disabilities
can be made upon request. Be sure to bring business cards and brochures
for networking purposes.
