Kean University Homecoming Events Set for October 17 and 18
UNION, N.J. — Kean University will host Homecoming Weekend 2003 on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, at the University’s main campus, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J. Events will also take place at Kean’s East Campus, 215 North Avenue, Hillside, N.J.
The Kean University Alumni Association invites fellow alumni as well as students, faculty, administrators, staff and friends to join the University-wide celebration. This year’s many fun-filled activities will incorporate a festive Cougar Country theme and will include a number of sporting events, tailgate picnics and post-game party.
On Friday, the festivities kick off with a pep rally, featuring a fireworks display and giveaways, at 6 p.m. at the Kean University Alumni Stadium on the main campus.
The weekend’s sporting events will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Kean’s women’s soccer team opposing Montclair State University at the East Campus, and the women’s volleyball playing SUNY-Farmingdale at D’Angola Gymnasium on the main campus. Tailgate picnics will commence at 11 a.m. in the D’Angola parking lot, the Alumni Hospitality Tent will open to provide refreshments and gifts for alumni, and the bookstore will open with Kean University and alumni-crested items for sale.
The Homecoming football game, Kean vs. Salisbury State University, will begin at 2 p.m. at Alumni Stadium, followed by a post-game party at 5:30 p.m. at Suspenders Restaurant and Pub on Magie Avenue in Union.
