Original Play Just Desserts by Andrea Green To Premiere at Kean University
UNION, N.J. – The original play Just Desserts by Union County
College professor Andrea Green, will have premiere on Thursday, April
3, at 8 p.m. in Kean University’s Little Theatre, 1000 Morris Avenue,
Union, N.J. A second performance will be held on Saturday, April 5, at
8 p.m. Admission is free.
Just Desserts is about a divorced couple who maintain a remarkable friendship
that survives ambition, betrayal, illness and years of separation. The
story focuses on an educated woman’s pilgrimage through her early
years of marriage and motherhood, and her struggle for self-realization.
Green has had a unique relationship with Kean University over the past decade. Each of her four original plays premiered at Kean, which served as a springboard for wide-spread productions at professional theatres in New Jersey and across the country. The director of the play, Ed Matthews, is the producing director of Kean University’s Performing Arts Theatre Series. He also produced Green’s Like Bees To Honey at Kean.
Admission to the play will be free due to the generous funding of the Council for Part-Time Students, the Graduate Student Council, the Women’s Studies Program and the Kean University Counseling Center. For more information, call Robyn Rajs at (908) 737-4863.
