Kean University Offers Workshop for Entrepreneurs on Importance of Good Credit

UNION, N.J. – The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will present a workshop titled Power of Good Credit for Entrepreneurs on Friday, March 21, 2003, from 9 a.m. to noon at the school’s East Campus, Room 158 A, 215 North Avenue, Hillside, N.J.

Althea Morris, president of The Credit Alternative in Montclair, N.J., will conduct the seminar, which is designed to assist entrepreneurs in submitting an application for business financing. It will address the issues of credit reports, credit scoring, late payments, credit analysis and inquiries. A case study will be discussed regarding an entrepreneur and debt financing, and sample credit reports will be analyzed.

The seminar is co-sponsored by the N.J. Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO), the Women’s Business Center in Hamilton, N.J., and the Union County Economic Development Corporation (UCEDC). There is a fee of $50 per person.
