FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Substitute-Teaching Seminar at Kean University UNION, N.J. Those who are interested in becoming substitute teachers in New Jersey should attend the two-day Substitute Teaching Seminar being held on Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Kean’s University Center, located on the main campus, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ. This workshop provides the necessary skills that aspiring or experienced substitute teachers need to be effective in the classroom. Subjects to be covered include basic classroom procedures and instructional techniques; student-behavior management; and school practices and procedures. In addition, the seminar imparts guidance in completing the application and forms required to apply for county substitute certification. A notary public will be present to authorize the documents. Information about teaching as a career and the pathways to New Jersey teacher certification will also be presented. The fee for the seminar is $160 and includes a handbook, materials and
notarization of substitute-teaching paperwork. For more information or
