Kean University Offers Workshop for Starting Small-Service Business
UNION, N.J. – The Small Business Development Center of Kean University
will present a seminar titled Starting Your Small Service Business
on Thursday, February 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at the school's East Campus,
Room 158 A, 215 North Avenue in Hillside, N.J.
Roger Cohen, president of Cohen International in Tappan, N.J., will discuss
the ins and out of starting a small-service business, such as testing the
feasibility of the idea, market research, services pricing, selecting the
best location and home-based business. Topics will also include advertising
and public relations, sales presentations, selecting the legal form of
business, insurance and equipment, the pros and cons of subcontractors.
There is a fee of $15 per person or $20 for two. Special arrangements for people with
disabilities can be made upon request. Be sure to bring business cards and brochures
for networking purposes.
