Kean University Jewish
Faculty and Staff
Association Hosts Lecture on Anti-Zionism
UNION, N.J. The Kean University Jewish Faculty and Staff Association
is proud to sponsor a lecture by professor Raphi Jospe, titled The New
Anti-Zionism and the Old Anti-Semitism: Transformations, on Thursday,
February 12, at 3:30 p.m., in the New Academic Building, Room 113, located
on the University’s campus at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J.
A topic that has been covered considerably in both national and local
publications, anti-zionism has emerged as a new brand of anti-semitism,
according to Dr. Henry Kaplowitz, a member of the Kean University Jewish
Faculty and Staff Association and a professor in the University’s
Department of Psychology. “This anti-semitism now has a different
face in that people are attacking Israel as a way of expressing their
prejudice of Jewish people,” he said.
Jospe is a professor of Jewish philosophy at Bar-Ilan University in Israel,
and the author and editor of eight major books on this discipline. Additionally,
he served in the Israel Defense Forces, and is currently a major in the
reserves.
Admission is free. For further information, please contact Dr. Paula Avioli
at (908) 737-4009.
