Kean University Offers G.E.D. Preparation Program
UNION, N.J. Develop your test-taking techniques and enhance the skills necessary to obtain your General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) during the G.E.D. Preparation Program offered by the Office of Continuing and Professional Education of Kean University, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J., beginning in March.
G.E.D. Preparation: Part I (CEGA 101, Section 080) will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, on successive Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 2 through April 8. The course will provide a comprehensive review of the test’s subjects to better prepare students to take the G.E.D. There is a $158 fee for the 12 sessions.
Math Enhancement (CEM 112, Section 070) will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, on successive Mondays and Wednesdays from March 1 through March 17. Participants of this course will strengthen their math knowledge through a review of basic mathematical skills of whole numbers, as well as the concepts and applications of fractions, decimals and percentages. There is a fee of $138 for the six sessions.
Basic Grammar Refresher and Writing Enhancement (CEE 103, Section 070) will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon, on successive Mondays and Wednesdays from April 5 through April 21. Through teaching and practicing principles and techniques of English composition, this course will help improve participants’ writing skills. The course will review the basics of grammar and sentence structure, as well as different types of composition writing such as narrative, descriptive and persuasive. There is a fee of $138 for the six sessions.
