Kean University Offers Visual Arts Courses for High School Students
UNION, N.J. New Jersey high school students are invited to enroll in one of Kean University’s non-credit, visual-arts seminars in Painting or Sculpting to be held on successive Saturdays from February 21 through April 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University’s main campus, located at 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, N.J.
Open to students ages 14 through 18, the studio courses will be conducted in state-of-the-art facilities by professional artists who are experienced educators. Through the implementation of a variety of techniques which emphasize individual expression and skill development, attendees will learn about the materials and methods of sculpture and painting. Participants will be able to prepare portfolio materials for college entrance as well as be introduced to new art forms. Enrollment is limited to ensure the maximum education benefit for participating students. No prior experience is required.
No class will be held on March 13 and April 10. There is a fee of $185
for each eight-session workshop, which includes art supplies. The courses
are co-sponsored by Kean’s Office of Continuing and Professional
