Kean University Offers
Workshop on International UNION, N.J. The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will offer a workshop, titled International Letters of Credit and International Commercial Terms, on Wednesday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Liberty Hall Corporate Center, Rooms A and B, located at 1085 Morris Avenue in Union N.J. This workshop, conducted by Roger S. Cohen, president of Cohen International in Old Tappan, N.J., and lead international trade consultant for the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC), will provide instruction on international letters of credit and Incoterms. Students will learn how to get paid by letters of credit and how to transfer risk by use of International Commercial Terms. Among the topics covered will be an overview of importing and exporting, international marketing and sales methods and various aspects of international banking and financing. In addition, it will discuss the working definitions of trade terms (Incoterms), calculating prices, insuring of overseas receivables and obtaining export working capital guaranteed loans. There is a fee of $15 per person or $20 for two, which includes literature
and refreshments. This workshop is co-sponsored by the UCEDC. Special
