Workshop on Using the UNION, N.J. –The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will present a seminar, titled Tapping the Internet for Global-Market Intelligence, on Tuesday, February 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the school’s East Campus, Room 158 A, at 215 North Avenue in Hillside, N.J. This workshop, conducted by Roger Cohen, president of Cohen International in Old Tappan, N.J., and lead international-trade consultant for New Jersey Small Business Development Centers, will discuss how to use the Internet as a valuable resource for market intelligence and competitive information on a global scale. In this interactive seminar, attendees will learn how to mine the Web for business information that can actually be utilized. Topics include defining competitive intelligence, finding local information on the Web, the difference between free and pay sites, ascertaining which search engines work best, and utilizing the company’s business information. Special arrangements for people with disabilities can be made upon request. There is a fee of $15 per person or $20 for two, which includes literature and refreshments.
