Parsons Dance Company Performs at Kean University
UNION, N.J. –Parsons Dance Company will bring
a sampling of its repertory of exuberant, athletic, exciting and provocative
choreographic masterpieces to the Wilkins Theatre at Kean University on
Friday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m.
David Parsons, the company founder, is one of the most beloved and inspiring
choreographers in the world. He recently won a Dance Magazine
2000 Award for satisfying “a public hungry for not just entertainment,
but for imagination, beauty, innovation and enlightenment.” His
company has received public funding from the National Endowment for the
Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts since 1989. It has also
been featured on PBS; cable networks Bravo and A&E Television, The
Discovery Channel; and stages around the world to rave reviews. “David
Parsons is the master of nearly everything that can be learned about modern
dance: its potential for stylistic variety, athletic excitement, sexy
glamour and technological novelty,” wrote Lewis Segal of the Los
Angeles Times.
Wilkins Theatre is located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J. Tickets
are $25 for the general public; $21 for seniors; and $17 for children.
