Three-time Emmy-Award Winner Kim Zimmer
and Director A.C. Weary to visit Kean University
UNION, N.J. –Kean University’s Premiere
Artists series continues with a visit from the star of Guiding Light,
three-time Emmy-Award winner Kim Zimmer and her husband, renowned director
A.C. Weary on Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. in Wilkins Theatre. Premiere
Artists is an offshoot of Premiere Stages, the professional Actors’
Equity Association (AEA) theatre program at Kean University. Premiere
Artists features high-profile artists as they visit the Kean University
campus to participate in one-day residencies. In the afternoon, artists
teach a master class to Kean University performance majors; in the evening
the artists participate in one-hour interview/question-and-answer sessions
in the Wilkins Theatre. The master class is limited to Kean University
performance majors, but the evening event is open to the public.
Zimmer and Weary will work with students from the Media & Film and
Theatre departments in a two-hour intensive Acting for Television master
class, using actual scripts from Guiding Light in Kean University’s
television studio. Following the master class, at 7 p.m., Zimmer and Weary
will take questions from the audience and discuss their careers in television,
stage, and film. Daniel Higgins, executive director of University Relations
at Kean, will moderate the question-and-answer portion of the evening.
The event will be followed up with a visit by the participating students
to the set of Guiding Light in mid-April. Students will tour
the set, meet with additional representatives from the show, and watch
an actual taping of a Guiding Light episode.
Tickets for the question-and-answer session are $10. Wilkins Theatre
is located on the University’s main campus at 1000 Morris Avenue
in Union, N.J. To reserve tickets, please call the Wilkins Theatre Box
Office at 908-737-SHOW (7469).
