FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Eleanor Kubacki, President/CEO,
of Trenton-based EFK Group, UNION, N.J. –– The Nathan Weiss Graduate College of Kean University has chosen Eleanor F. Kubacki of Trenton, N.J. as its commencement speaker on Tuesday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, N.J. Kubacki is president and CEO of EFK Group, an advertising agency located on West State Street in the capital. She will speak to the approximately 600 students who will receive their master’s degrees in a year when Kean University celebrates its 150th anniversary. Since her association with Kean University began in 1999, Kubacki has become a true and dedicated friend to the institution. Over the past five years, Kubacki has worked in conjunction with Kean to market the University throughout the United States. Repeatedly making in-kind donations of her time, and doing work for the cost of labor and materials, Kubacki has helped reposition Kean's image and cement its reputation as the university of first choice for thousands of students. Kubacki is a 1990 graduate of Rutgers University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. A success story much like those of Kean's first-generation students, Kubacki started her company out of her modest, one-bedroom apartment. A former waitress, Kubacki used her credit cards to generate start-up capital for her business. Since then, Kubacki has seen the award-winning and repeatedly lauded EFK Group grow into a leading advertising agency with a worldwide client base. Today, EFK Group is a multimillion dollar advertising and public-relations
firm. It was recently ranked as the18th fastest-growing, privately held
firm in the region by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School
of Business and the Philadelphia Business Journal. Also, Inc.
magazine cited EFK Group as one of the 25 urban companies to watch in
the United States. Kubacki also served as a session leader at Kean University’s successful Thinking Creatively design conference last March, where she directed a discussion about summoning group creativity for the purpose of a single, focused advertising message. Kubacki and her husband regularly attend such Kean events as the Kean Gala, Wilkins Theatre offerings and last year’s Visual and Performing Arts Showcase.
