FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Join Kean University and UMDNJ to Fight Child Obesity on February 12 UNION, N.J. - Join Kean University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in combating childhood obesity at Healthy Together at Kean University on Sunday, February 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Kean campus, located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J. Dr. Jeff Levine, a contestant on NBC-TV's The Biggest Loser , will be the event's keynote speaker. Levine, of Hillsborough, N.J., is a family physician who once carried 370 pounds on his 6-foot-1 frame before becoming a contestant on The Biggest Loser , a reality TV show in which overweight participants competed to lose the greatest percentage of body weight by the end of the television season. Believing that he had lost credibility with his patients, Levine dropped 153 pounds, and though he did not ultimately win the show's top prize, he is now a fit 217 pounds after shedding an astounding 41 percent of his total body weight. Levine will be joined by four additional speakers from the field of health, including two physicians. Space is limited for the speakers' sessions, so those wishing to attend must register at www.kean.edu/~healthy.Healthy Together at Kean University will also feature a day of sports and exercise for folks of all ages, including Home Run Derby, Basketball Drills, Relay Races, Yoga, Martial Arts and various other games. All participants in these activities must wear sneakers.
