FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Kean University and the Art Directors Club of New Jersey UNION, N.J. - Kean University and the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) have again cooperated to gather the best and brightest art directors, designers and experimental, innovative thinkers for the third annual Thinking Creatively Conference: Design Ideas , which will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25 on the main campus of Kean University located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J. The conference will provide an exceptional opportunity for intellectual nourishment, refreshment and networking. The roster of presentations and break-out sessions includes nationally and internationally recognized professionals in the field of design, advertising, promotional, marketing, corporate communications, pharmaceutical, publishing and areas of experimental thinking. The conference will begin on Friday, March 24, at 9 a.m. with a reception and registration in the University Center Lobby. After registration and continuing into the afternoon, attendees will gather into groups for break-out sessions and small-group presentations in University Center conference rooms. At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, David Schimmel, principal and creative director of And Partners in New York, will give a main-stage presentation on the topic Design Rules in the University Center Little Theatre. After the keynote speech, there will be an opportunity for socializing at a Punc't poster reception with desserts, coffee and live music by the Paul Bacon Trio in the Kean University CAS Gallery in the Center for Academic Success Building, where a poster exhibit Putting Punctuation in Its Place will be on display. A silent auction benefiting Books for Kids will commence until 6 p.m. The day will conclude at 6:30 p.m. with a Main Stage Panel Discussion: Punc't Cause/Effect in the University Center Little Theatre. Saturday's program will begin with reception and registration in the University Center Lobby followed by a presentation by Deborah Adler, senior designer at Milton Glaser, Inc., titled Clear Rx: From Master's Thesis to Medicine Cabinet , in the Little Theatre. The lecture is about how Adler designed a new prescription-drug packaging system and the Target® department stores made it a reality. On Saturday late morning and afternoon, attendees will gather into groups for break-out sessions and small-group presentations in University Center conference rooms. An Endnote Main Stage Presentation Inspirability will take place in the afternoon. Presentations will cover a broad range of creativity topics, including print, non-print areas, theory and practice, practical application and/or experimental concepts.
