FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Kean University Concert Choir to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria with Orchestra UNION, N.J. -- On Sunday, November 18, at 3 p.m., the Kean University Concert Choir and Chorale will present their fall concert at Cranford United Methodist Church. The major work on the program will be Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, one of the most-beloved choral pieces in the repertoire. After intermission, the select Kean University Chorale will be performing two five-part a cappella madrigals, To Shorten Winter’s Sadness by Thomas Weelkes, and Lullaby by William Byrd. The Chorale will also perform the familiar carol Good King Wenceslas as well as a spoof on the piece by P.D.Q. Bach, Good King Kong,which will also include the Kean Kazoo Ensemble. The Concert Choir will complete the program with two festive seasonal selections, Hanukah hymn Maoz Tsur and Norman Luboff’s sublime arrangement of Still, Still, Still. Student soloists for the Vivaldi Gloria are Kelly Anderson, Kelly Bennett, Stephanie Chelston, Christine Danelson, and Veronica Khalil. Two student conductors are also featured in the program, Leo Campos and Carol Cuneo, as well as quartet singers Tatyana Legkaya, Mariana Santiago, Jeff Mendoza, Diego Gallardo, Jessica Clayton, Christina Boston, Jonathan Russo, and Dan Bulich. Admission to the concert is free, and will run about 75 minutes.
