Kean University Offers Workshop on Principles of Project Management for Construction
UNION, N.J. – The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will present a workshop, entitled Principles of Project Management for Construction, on Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Business Resource Center, located on the Second Floor of the Department of Labor Building, at 200 East Second Street in Plainfield, N.J.
Lisa Armstrong, of Armstrong Construction Group in Rahway, N.J., will provide an organized overview of the fundamental concepts of managing or contributing to construction projects. Intended for anyone in the construction industry, this workshop will explore a variety of topics, including organizing the project, construction planning, licenses and permits, material and equipment utilization, design and construction process and scheduling procedures. Armstrong will also address cost estimation, pricing and contracting, cost control monitoring and accounting, project financing, quality control and safety, and use of project information.
There is a fee of $15 per person. Special arrangements for people with disabilities can be made upon request. Be sure to bring business cards and brochures for networking purposes.
