Kean University Presents Seminar on Tax and Property Issues for the Self-Employed
UNION, N.J. – The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will present a free workshop, entitled Tax and Property Issues for the Self-Employed, on Wednesday, March 11, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Elizabeth Public Library – Elmora Branch, located at 740 W. Grand St. in Elizabeth, N.J.
A representative from H & R Block Tax Professionals will teach guests how to comply with IRS rules and regulations, whether they are self-employed or they plan to be. Topics include estimated tax payments, income subject to tax, determining independent contractor vs. employee taxes and retirement plans. Guests will also learn will also learn about deducting start-up costs, home office expenses and deductions, and deducting vehicle expenses.
