Kean to Host Thinking Creatively Design Conference on April 3 and 4
Kean University will host Thinking Creatively, a two-day, world-class conference for creative professionals and students of design, on Friday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the universityís main campus, located at 1000 Morris Avenue in Union, N.J.
The conference features a broad range of presentations promoting creative thinking and design. It is sponsored by the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ) and The Design Center at Kean University.
"Thinking Creatively is a vibrant and professionally far-reaching conference," said Rose Gonnella, ADCNJ board member and a professor in the Department of Design at Kean. "We believe itís important to provide affordable access to a major event for design professionals and students in the New York metropolitan area and plan to deliver an interactive and thought-provoking conference."
Robert Ryan, president of the ADCNJ, as well as CMYK Printing in Saddle Brook, N.J., added that the conference is an excellent opportunity for professional enrichment.
"Now in its sixth year, this event has grown in attendance to become a successful and popular resource, bringing together the best and brightest innovators and thinkers in our industry," said Ryan.
Ron Elowitz, director of In-Store Strategy and Innovation at Johnson & Johnson, as well as an adjunct professor in Keanís Department of Design, will deliver the keynote address on Friday at 10 a.m.
Ed Leida, design director for W Magazine and a 1988 Kean graduate, will provide the main stage presentation on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday morning, Ken Gruskin, principal of the Gruskin Group, will showcase his work with a main stage presentation at 10 a.m. Film director and designer Benita Raphan will provide the main stage endnote presentation at 2:30 p.m.
