Kean University Offers Professional Theatre Camp for Middle School Students
Union, N.J. - Premiere Stages, the professional Actors’ Equity Association theatre company in residence at Kean University, is accepting applications for Camp Premiere, a two-week theatre camp for students ages 11-14 years old.
Campers will work with professional actors, directors and playwrights in a fun, creative and collaborative environment to develop original plays. Camp Premiere will run from July 20 to 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday, on the Kean University Campus in Union, NJ.
Campers will learn the elements of playwriting through innovative, active exercises and games. They’ll also get a chance to see their plays performed by professional actors during a final showcase.
The total cost for participating campers is $295. Scholarships are available. For more information or to request an application, please contact Erica Nagel, Producing Associate at firstname.lastname@example.org or 908-737-4092. Interested students should submit a completed registration form, along with a short "camp expectations" paragraph statement and a $25 check made out to Premiere Stages at Kean University. The $25 fee will serve as a deposit and ensure inclusion in the camp. Mail the application and deposit to Erica Nagel, Producing Associate, Premiere Stages, Kean University, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ, 07083.
