SBDC at Kean University Presents Becoming A Successful Consultant
UNION, N.J. - The Small Business Development Center of Kean University will present a free seminar, entitled, Becoming A Successful Consultant, on Tuesday, March 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Scotch Plains Public Library, located at 1927 Bartle Avenue in Scotch Plains, N.J.
Herb Caesar, president of CED Solutions, LLC, in Englewood, N.J., will discuss a host of topics related to becoming a successful business consultant, including the IRS guidelines of the consultant vs. contract employee, defining a field of expertise with appropriate credentials, identifying and marketing skills that provide added value to clients, project/client management and juggling schedules. He will also cover establishing and negotiating compensation, assessing emotional support from personal household/spouse, defining valuable relationships and collaborative alliances, establishing target market/niche and perception of one’s practice within the industry and management and personnel functional structure and development.
