The Council for Part-Time Students, Inc. (CPTS) is the student government that represents the undergraduate part-time students at Kean University. Acting as the liaison between the University and the part-time student body, CPTS addresses issues and concerns that impact directly on its constituency.

CPTS provides numerous services that benefit undergraduate part-time students as well as the entire community. CPTS sponsors scholarships, evening childcare, funding for the library, monthly coffeehours, Alpha Sigma Lambda (the national honor society for part-time students), as well as other cultural events and activities.

CPTS furnishes a fully staffed lounge geared for the evening student. The Lounge is located in Hutchinson Hall, Room 130. It is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9am to noon. The staff is available to answer questions and provide information to students. In addition, semester bulletins and other University forms are always available.

The membership of CPTS is part-time students who meet once a month on a Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. All interested undergraduate part-time students are encouraged to participate in CPTS.
