Message from the Dean
A warm welcome to the recently inaugurated School of Visual and Performing Arts at Kean University. The School comprises the Departments of Design, Fine Arts, Music and Theatre and reflects the University's serious commitment to the educational and cultural role of the arts. We are dedicated to providing a quality educational experience, fostering the knowledge, skills, creativity and professionalism that prepare students for the arts disciplines. We offer a wide variety of professional and performance-based programs with a strong liberal arts component. The School of Visual and Performing Arts is committed to high quality programming and research opportunities that enrich student experiences. Our Affiliate Artist Program, Theatre Series, Concert Series and fine and graphic arts exhibitions bring well-known artists to the campus and serve the general public as well as the University community. We invite you to participate in these outstanding events throughout the academic year.
