In this modern re-imagining of Charles Perrault's 17th century classic, SLEEPING BEAUTY, a play with music, is seen through the eyes of the guilt-ridden fairy, who cast the sleeping spell in the first place. Rufus Norris, a contemporary playwright, has created an account of this fairy tale that wants us to envision what happens after Beauty awakens and why “happily ever after” may not be exactly what one might assume. Initially produced in London at the Arts Threshold Theatre, and performed at the Young Vic Theatre, this highly entertaining and acclaimed retelling is theater at its essence: joyful, insightful, and highly creative.

Suitable for audiences of all ages.

A fresh take on one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular comic operas, this updated version of The Pirates of Penzance took New York by storm when it premiered in Central Park in 1980, leading to a subsequent smash-hit Broadway run. Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, The Pirates of Penzance spins an hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.

Gordon and Freddie have been best friends for as long as they can remember. They do everything together, however, they are not considered “popular” by the other kids in school. He begins to forget about his friendship with Freddie, and even begins to make fun of him like the “popular” kids do. Will Gordon and Freddie be able to be friends again?
