First Monthly meeting of the ART HISTORY CLUB,
Wednesday, February 19, 2003 3:30 PM.
In attendance:
Professor Mayhall (Advisor), Kim Alvarado (President), Maureen
Starace, Rachel Simon and Nicole Bowman
Announcements:
- Professor Kachur is organizing a trip to MOMA in Queens
on March 2nd, 10:30 AM to view the Matisse/Picasso Exhibit.
Cost is $14.50 per student.
- There will be a spring lecture at Kean sponsored by the
Art History Dept. Date, time, and topic are not known at
this time. Volunteers will be needed for purchasing and
set-up of a reception afterwards.
Topics for Discussion:
- How and where to post the above announcements, as well
as future announcements regarding trips, lectures, etc.
- The need to obtain all members e-mail addresses for contact
and communication purposes. Also, recruiting students from
other majors as well.
- Possibility of utilizing the Kean newspaper, The Tower,
for advertising Art History Club events, etc. Also, the
possibility of advertising in local area newspapers regarding
same.
- Posting and updating a listing of gallery and museum exhibitions
in New York and New Jersey.
- Making contacts with Art History clubs from other colleges
such as Montclair State and Rutgers, for their advice and
input.
- Starting up of a symposium wherein students can submit
term papers, etc. for presentation and discussion with the
club.
