- major responsibilities
- Serve as senior research officer to provide leadership in the development, submission and administration of all university proposals from across the disciplines to federal, state and local agencies
- Serve as compliance officer for research with human subjects and as research integrity officer to handle research misconduct
- Serve as the oversight administrator of all sponsored programs and all internal research award programs
- Manage the operation of the office, budget and staff (four professionals, one support staff and two student workers)

- Led, designed and managed the creation of a new website for ORSP
- Developed new policies and procedures for the Institutional Review Board to reorganize and streamline the process for application submission and approval
- Effectively lobbied for and secured a new administrative line for ORSP (Assistant Director) to enhance the operations of the office by coordinating the Institutional Review Board and contributing to grant writing activity.
- Successfully negotiated a indirect cost rate (68%) for Kean
University with the Department of Health and Human Services; the
first in over 20 years
- Developed and established a new internal award for faculty (Foundation Faculty Research Award) providing 10 awards annually at $5000 per year
- Shepherded the planning, budgeting and submission of 183 proposals in FY07
and FY08 seeking $42M
- Provided fiscal and managerial oversight to 93
externally-funded projects in FY07 and FY08 with total budgets

- Inspired and led collaborations among science faculty to enhance institutional grant activity resulting in the first successful NSF Major Research Instrumentation award to Kean University for the establishment of a supercomputer facility
