Step by Step Instructions

Using Enhanced classrooms
  1. Make sure you have the key for the black box. If you don't have a key please contact your DEAN or the department secretary to assist you. CCS cannot provide you the key, or open the black box for you.
  2. Open the black box. Make sure the main power button on the top right hand side is turned on.
  3. On the side of the black box you will find a key pad, Press the "ON" button.
  4. Select the source you wish to use(PC, DVD or VCR).
  5. If you are using a laptop. Please attached the cable in the drawer of the black box on the back of the laptop.
    A- once you attached that cable on the back of your laptop. See if it is showing up on the projector.
    B- If not then make sure your have selected PC on the keypad.
    C- If yes then press Fn (function key is located between ctrl and alt key on the left hand side of the spacebar on the keyboard.) plus the F8 key on the top of keyboard together.(Repeat the process to toggle between different outputs until you get your desired output)
     
  6. When finished using the system, please press "OFF" to shutdown.
CAS Classrooms (Credenza Instructions)
  1. Press the black button marked "ON" to turn on the LCD projector in the ceiling.
  2. Press the black button of the source you wish to use. (PC, DVD, VHS)
  3. Press the gray touch pad in the center of the keypad to activate the menu. (For example, if you press the "VCR" or "DVD" button, the gray touch pad in the center will give you all of the controls, such as "play," "pause," "rewind," and "forward.")
  4. When using the pc button, remember to press the gray touch pad in the center of the keypad so that you have either "PC" or "LAPTOP."
  5. When finished using the system, please press "OFF" to shutdown.
Smart Classrooms (Using Podium)
  1. Press the "ON" button.
  2. Make sure the source you wish to use is turned on.
  3. Press the input button to toggle to the desired mode(For example "video" When using VCR or DVD).
  4. If you are using PC or Doc Cam make sure you select the required source using the switch on the podium.
  5. If you cant hear the audio make sure to turn the volume up.
  6. When finished using the system, please press "OFF" twice to shutdown.

 
Unable to turn the projector on
  • Make sure the ON button on the keypad of black box is turned on.
  • Make sure the ON button on the keypad on the Podium is turned on
  • Make sure ON button on the keypad on credenza is turned on.
Play DVD or VHS
  • Make sure you press the source you want(PC, DVD, VHS).
  • Make sure you press the source you want(PC, DVD, VHS).
  • Make sure you press the source you want(PC, DVD, VHS).

 
Connecting a LAPTOP
  • Make sure you press the ON button on the key pad of black box and also press the output you want(PC).
  • Please attach the cable from the drawer of the black box on the back of the laptop.
  • Once you attached that cable on the back of your laptop. See if it is showing up on the projector.
  • Press Fn (function key is located between ctrl and alt key on the left hand side of the spacebar on the keyboard.) + f8 key on the keyboard of your laptop.(Press couple of times if it doesn't show up)
  • Make sure you press the ON button on the key pad on the Podium and also press the output you want(PC).
  • Please attach the cable from the top of the podium on the back of the laptop.
  • Once you attached that cable on the back of your laptop. See if it is showing up on the projector.
  • Press Fn (function key is located between ctrl and alt key on the left hand side of the spacebar on the keyboard.) + f8 key on the keyboard of your laptop.(Press couple of times if it doesn't show up)
  • Make sure you press the ON button on the key pad on the credenza and also press the output you want(PC).
  • Please attach the cable from the middle cabinet , on the back of the laptop.
  • Once you attached that cable on the back of your laptop. See if it is showing up on the projector.
  • Press Fn (function key is located between ctrl and alt key on the left hand side of the spacebar on the keyboard.) + f8 key on the keyboard of your laptop.(Press couple of times if it doesn't show up)

Remote not working
  1. Check if you are using the appropriate remote for the device you want to use. (SONY remote for sony product etc)
  2. Check if there are batteries
  • Are they in right direction?
  • Are they dead?


Computer not working
  1. Make sure computer is turned on.
  2. If it is turned on but giving you a system error, please call x76000
  3. If key board or mouse is not working, please call x76000
DONT'S
  1. DONOT TURN THE AMPLIFIER KNOBS UP OR DOWN. THEY ARE PRE-SET.
  2. DONOT TURN OFF RED MASTER SWITCH LOCK.
DOs
  1. Please lock the cabinet.
  2. Turn the power of using the keypad either on Credenza, Podium or black box.
Can not hear Audio
  1. Make sure volume is sufficiently turned up.
  2. If you are using Computer make sure volume in computer is not muted and it is sufficiently UP.
  3. Make sure amplifier is turned on.
How to use a Doc Cam
  1. Turn power switch on DOC CAM on.
  2. Pull the camera lever up.
  3. Point the camera lens to the FLAT surface of the DOC CAM. (It should be facing down in the center)
    Bring the lights out.
  4. If it is not projecting on the screen make sure you have selected "DOC CAM" on the credenza or podium.
  5. When returning to storage space, pull lens arm back and then forward to rest on the flat viewing surface.
Controlling the projection screen

Automatic:

  1. Locate the controls on the wall
  2. Use "up" control to adjust the screen up
  3. Use "down" control to adjust the screen down

(Once you press the button screen will stop on its own)

 

Manual:
Pulling Down:

Pull the string down till the screen stop coming down and then let it go.

Pulling up:

Pull the screen down a little and then take it up . Please don not release it after you pull a little down. It may cause projection screen to break.
Do not have a Key?
  • CCS cannot provide you a key to open any doors or give you access to any equipment on campus.
  • If you do not have equipment keys contact the appropriate DEAN, Chairperson or the director.
  • If you do not have the room keys contact facilities.
