Kean University and the Office of Veterans welcomes our veterans as they pursue their educational program(s). The Kean University administration, faculty and staff are dedicated to help our veterans achieve their educational and career goals.
The Office of Veterans Affairs helps our veterans obtain their educational benefits through the Veterans Administration.
Getting started:
- Complete the application for admissions online at www.kean.edu.
- Have official transcripts of all previous college coursework and prior military training transcripts sent to the Undergraduate Transfer Admissions Office.**
- Complete VA form 22-1990 Application for Veterans Benefits online at www.gibill.va.gov.
** Army – Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System,

Navy/Marines – SMART Transcript, Link: SMART
Air Force – Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), Link: USAF Air
University.
Coast Guard – The Coast Guard Institute (CGI) Link: Coast Guard Institute
- Contact the Office of Veterans’ Affairs (CAS-222), (908) 737-0367.
National Guard Tuition Waiver students – Complete an Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Also bring a Company Commander’s Certificate of Eligibility Form 621-2-R to the Office of Veterans’ Affairs.
National Guard/Reservists – Bring a copy of your Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) Form DD 2384-1 or DD Form 214 Member 4 Copy if you were called to active duty.
