Stoudt, Director Cooperative Education, Internship and Service LearningThe CBPA Cooperative Education office provides unique learning opportunities as you continue your academic studies. These programs allow for personal experience outside the classroom and give you firsthand knowledge of companies, community organizations, not-for-profit agencies and other off-campus placements. While preparing for your future success, you need experience. These programs arrange for you to have that experience in many settings to assist in preparing you for a bright and successful future. Cooperative Education/InternshipsThis program combines academic study with realistic, career-related work practice. You can earn academic credit while working on approved employment directly related to your field of study. Supervised by employers and advised by faculty members, the approved placements may be full or part-time, paying or non-paying and credits earned vary with work experience. The program is open to juniors and seniors in selected majors. Service LearningIf you elect to participate in the Service Learning program, you will have a unique opportunity to engage in course-related service activities within a wide range of community and not-for-profit agencies. Service Learning courses are offered among a number of disciplines and will require you to give forty hours of service over the course of a semester. The service experience will be integrated in various ways into the course content. You will earn one additional course credit for the time devoted to community service and you can also apply your community service experience for credit on the Co-curricular Transcript and use it to enhance your resume. |
