The Speech-Language Pathology program is designed to train students to identify, assess
and enhance the communicative skills of individuals with a variety of communication
disorders in a variety of settings (public, private and special schools, hospitals,
rehabilitation centers, nursing agencies, private practices). These include disorders of
articulation, language, voice, fluency, cognition, and swallowing. The program is
accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and meets the
academic and practicum requirements of New Jersey Licensure as well as Speech-
Language Specialist certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Application deadline-February 1st (This program admits in the Fall semester only)
In addition to the University’s admission requirements:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
- GRE (Graduate Record Exam) test scores
- Three letters of recommendation
- Strong personal statement
- Interview at the discretion of Department

- 57 credits
- 6 credits of research in Speech-Language Pathology
- Minimum of 6 credits of Clinical Practicum
- Praxis Exam for New Jersey Certification as Speech-Language Specialist
- Comprehensive examination
