The programs offered by the Chemistry-Physics Department are briefly
described below. Select the links at left for the details of each curriculum.
- Expanded Option in Chemistry
(BS)

Students should
choose the expanded option if they are planning to pursue graduate studies
in chemistry.
- General Option in Chemistry (BA)

The general
option prepares students for employment in chemistry, pharmaceuticals,
biotechnology, and similar industries directly after graduation.
- Pre-Professional Option in
Chemistry (BA)

Students who
plan to attend medical, dental, chiropractic or podiatric schools should
choose the pre-professional option in chemistry.

- Teacher Certification Option in Chemistry
(BA)

Graduation from
the teacher certification option qualifies students to teach chemistry in
New Jersey high schools.

- Technical Sales and Marketing
Option in Chemistry (BA)

- The TSM option is
intended for those students who plan to seek employment as technical sales
reps or marketing personnel in science and technology-based companies upon
graduation.

- Minor in Chemistry

- A minor in chemistry may be taken by
students in any major. A minimum of 22 credits in chemistry is required
(curriculum specifications by following link at left). Note that some of the
chemistry courses have mathematics pre- and co-prerequisites.
- A minor in physics may be taken by
students in any major.
