Stipends Available to Study Type-2 Diabetes
with NAHS Dean Toney for Summer 2009

Award awarded to Dr. Jeffrey Toney, Dean of the College of Natural,
Applied and Health Sciences, has been transferred to Kean University.
The title of the grant, An Interdisciplinary Study of the Beneficial
Effects of Peanuts in Preventing Onset of Type 2 Diabetes, explores
nutritional biochemistry and Type-2 diabetes. This funding will support
up to three undergraduate students during summer 2009 to join Toney
in learning about diabetes. The stipend is $3500 for 10 weeks. Undergraduates
with an interest in science or medical research are encouraged to apply.
Entering junior in Fall 2009 are preferred.
